Modification Part 1 (Squats and Lunges)

Sometime back I wrote about changing exercises by adding a little jump. I like to keep changing my exercises. Here are a few more modifications I do for my squats and lunges

Can you think of any more modifications? I would love it if you share your modifications with me :)

I would  like to point out I'm no fitness expert these are things I picked up along the way of my weight loss journey by surfing the internet and going for fitness classes.

  1. I like the split (bulgarian) squat as well as the 45 degree angle lunge.

  2. I've been doing 1 minute of jump rope between my weight sets. Another thing I like to do is balance in different ways, e.g dumbbell rows while just on one leg or chest presses while on a stability ball vs. a bench. I haven't done that last one in a while; I need to wait until my wrist is a bit more stable. It's a great core plus strength workout though.

    1. I feel balance exercises are very good for core..just holding a position is so difficult I try and do one leg burpees and one leg walking push ups and a few more (I don't know the name ;) )

  4. Those are great variations! I have to be careful with jumping because of my back. :(
